2020 has been a hard year for all of us. For me, the silver lining of this year is I got to read a lot more books. They've been an escape from reality. Some books though, they present you the harsh reality, they show the struggles of life and sometimes, life itself. One such wonderful piece is " The Ocean" Black hole Volume ll by Safah Tales.
I don't normally read a lot of poetry. But call it a final 2020 miracle, I read this beautiful book of short poems and prose. "The Ocean" is about survival, suicide, loss and a will to stay strong. Some of them gave me literal chills.
" The pain it hurt but never killed,
Immortal me, I lived too fast.
Time it flickered then grew still,
I became ancient before I ever lived."
Every line written spoke about a journey riddled with suffering, pain, and hope to stay strong through it. We don't normally give ourselves enough credit for staying strong through many things, be it a trivial thing or a serious one. What I realised while reading this is it's okay to be different, it's okay to do some mistakes, it's okay to feel something unabashedly, after all, we are humans. Some of my favourites in this book were
🍂The Magic pen
🍂 The Desert
🍂Silence
🍂 Mosaic
🍂 Where Strength lies
- Here's to another year of staying strong.
- Another year of staying true to yourself.
- Another year of a cycle of loss, pain and survival and hope.
Happy New year.🥂
Thank you @tbrunlimited for sharing this priceless piece with me. You'll always have my gratitude. Please do remember to check out her page. I would recommend this book to anyone who's interested in reading about mental health. Breezy read with beautiful words. Not too difficult to decipher, this will attract you right off.
