Cage Of Bone

About the book:

"Cage Of Bone" is the first book of Black hole volume. It's written by Safah. It's a collection of poetry and prose about hope, loss and survival. Having read her second book first, I was dying to read this. Finally, I got the time and boy, it was amazing.

Trigger Warning ⚠️

This book delves into topics such as suicide and self-harm. Without a doubt, it is darker than "The Ocean", her second book.

The writing is deep and the phrasing of each word gives you a crystal image of human emotions and how raw they can be. I know words have the power to kill you, but if they could literally kill, I would've been dead by now. It's kind of hard to choose a favourite from this collection. But the one I can't and won't forget to mention is-

🍃 Translucence🍃

"Do you know how it feels, to hang from the

edge?

Do you know what it’s like, to fall from the

bridge?

Or to meet yourself, between life and death?

To fall out of trance, where darkness lights

aflame?

To reach a balance point, and finally, feel no

pain.

When you’re choking on blood and there’s

no one else to blame,

Well, there goes for sane."

Mental health needs to be talked more and it's high time to end the stigma around it. Mental health is more important than physical health. And I thank and applaud Safah Ali for penning this wonderful book that speaks so freely about many things unapologetically. As they should be. If you're a fan of poetry that is a bit dark you should buy her book. You'll love it.
